Miranda Kerr’s Favourite Hunter Valley Trophy Estate Loggerheads Sold for $6 Million
Supermodel Miranda Kerr will need to find a new rental for her next Hunter Valley visit after the Pokolbin trophy estate she stayed at last Christmas has been sold for $6 million.
Owned by former Macquarie director Robin Crawford and his wife Judy, Loggerheads has long been regarded as one of the wine region’s most significant holdings and includes a seven-bedroom homestead designed by architect Michael Suttor and a Paul Bangay-designed garden with a summer house, swimming pool and orchard.
The buyer’s identity was not revealed by selling agent Alan Jurd, of Jurds Real Estate.

The 39-hectare property was sold separately to the adjoining 48 hectares on which there is a leased cellar door and farm cottage and dairy/barn and wine storage shed. Alan Jurd is asking more than $4 million for the separate land and cellar door property.
The Pokolbin property comes with a 35-year-old vineyard established by the Tyrrell family in the early 1970s and is the former home of the late Len Evans, whose widow Trish sold it to the Crawfords in 2008.
The property made headlines in the lead-up to last Christmas when Miranda Kerr and her son Flynn jetted into Australia to spend the holidays with her Gunnedah family.

Loggerheads is down the road from the restaurant Nanna Kerr’s Kitchen of Kerr’s brother Matthew.
Loggerheads is just one of many Hunter Valley properties being snapped by predominantly Sydney buyers keeping Jurd busy for much of the second half of this year, as the ripple effect of the Sydney property boom is reflected in local sales results.
“We’re averaging a sale a day and are still flat out listing new properties in the weeks before Christmas,” Alan Jurd said. “Money is cheap and Sydney buyers are seeing good value here and that combination is transacting into strong deals up here.”
